Thurs 8th January - Saturday 10th January
9am - 5pm
A thought-provoking photography exhibition showing everyday life in the village of Bil’in in the Occupied West Bank of Palestine as seen through the eyes of the children who live there.
After being trained by a professional community photographer, the children produced a set of beautiful photos illustrating their day to day life at school, home and in the village.
Gwen Backwell, an activist for Palestine, will be speaking on the Saturday in the Curve, from 1pm - 3pm. She belongs to Liverpool Friends of Palestine and its sub-group, Liverpool Friends of Bil'in (LFOB). Gwen will be speaking about her experiences in the village of Bil'in with a few of her own slides, moving from personal encounters to an understanding of the major issues of the conflict between Israel and Palestine.
There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion afterwards. Everyone is welcome.
The exhibition was commissioned by the Liverpool Friends of Palestine, which has been twinned since 2008 with Bil'in.
