Wednesday 25th March 2015 - 19:00
Prof Dave Petley, Pro-Vice-Chancellor at UEA
In 2013 more people were displaced by natural disasters than by armed conflicts. In the last few decades the losses from natural disasters have risen dramatically. This lecture explores the causes of these increases in losses, and examines likely future trends in the factors that drive these rising costs, aiming to understand the expected patterns of natural disasters around the world over the next 50 years.
Attendance is free and open to all.
