Heritage Open Days
From Thursday 8th September 2016
to Sunday 11th September 2016
This year’s Heritage Open Days (HODs) festival kicks off on Thursday 8 – Sunday 11 September with many venues across Norwich and Norfolk unfurling the bunting and opening their doors to reveal the best of Norfolk’s hidden heritage.
HODs is England’s biggest heritage festival celebrating our fantastic history, architecture and culture. Here in Norfolk, people can discover numerous local treasures right on their doorstep and try out new experiences – all of which are free to explore during the four day festival.
Secret gardens, tower tours, guided walks, children’s activities, musical and theatrical performances, vintage fetes, behind the scenes excursions and lots more – there’s something for everyone.
This year’s local festival already has over 220 events registered… and it keeps growing! There’s a fantastic selection of pre-book and drop-in events on offer this year across Norwich, Breckland, Broadland, Thetford, Great Yarmouth, South Norfolk and North Norfolk. And the 2016 programme includes plenty of HODs favourites as well as lots of new and exciting interpretations of heritage and culture. Only pre-book events need ticket reservations
