On Saturday 2nd September Mark Thompson will be giving an Introduction to Stargazing. This event will be free, as an introduction to our 2023/24 astronomical season of Public talks.

Olio app





Olio is a mobile app for sharing by giving away, getting, borrowing or lending things in your community for free. 

Shops and supermarkets arrange for their unsold produce to be picked up by volunteers who then distribute it through the app. Is is also a 'free shop' for non-food items.

You do have to be quick as items get requested very quickly.

Heritage Open Days 8-17 September 2023

Heritage Open Days (HODs) is England’s largest festival of history and culture and in Norfolk hundreds of participating venues, organisations, private homes and gardens throw open their doors for FREE to reveal and celebrate the very best of the county’s rich history and heritage.

Run by hundreds of local organisations and volunteers, HODs gives everyone free access to experiences and events where you can explore heritage sites, discover some hidden gems not normally open to the public and learn more about the cultural heritage in our communities.   

There are a huge amount of free heritage activities going on in Norwich (and further afield) for Heritage Open Days.  They often get booked up ahead, and booking opens on Monday 21 August 10am

Norwich Summer Sessions 2023

 


Norwich Summer Sessions

Visitor or local, if you’ve been to Norwich in the summer in previous years, you may have spotted some spectacular performances on the stages of Head Out, Not Home by Norwich Business Improvement District. Now, this annual free programme of street entertainment is relaunching with a brand-new name for its tenth-year – Norwich Summer Sessions.

Starting from 12:40pm on Sunday, July 30 and repeating weekly until Sunday, September 3, an afternoon of entertainment will be available for FREE on five stages throughout the city.

To mark the tenth anniversary of Norwich Summer Sessions, there will be a return to the popular location of London Street with Covent Garden entertainers, while four other stages nearby will create a festival atmosphere around the city. These four locations are: The Forum, Westlegate, St Gregory’s Green and Gentleman’s Walk.

The programme for Norwich Summer Sessions, managed by NORCA, includes a large range of national and local acts, with a performer from each of the last ten years returning to bring our streets to life. The acts returning for Norwich Summer Sessions are:
