St Julian is a medieval feminist in my opinion.  A 14th century Norwich woman, she experienced a series of extraordinary visions.  She then became an Anchoress, locking herself away in a small cell attached to a church in Norwich.  In this cell, she became the first woman to write a book in English

You can visit the church and her cell for free, or the visitor information centre to find out more her history and context, and read books in the library - They may make you a cup of tea and give you a little hazelnut if you stay long enough!  The shrine also has a secret churchyard garden, a green oasis in the city

The Church is open every day: 9am - 6pm
The Visitor Centre is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday: 10am - 3:30pm

Last year, an estimated 15,000 people were delighted to attend the Summer Fayre and we are expecting to see a rise in numbers this time round! If you would like to bring your business in to the Norwich Lanes for the day, please contact Victoria at stalls@norwichlanes.co.uk

This would work out as:

Until 1st July - Mon - Sun 3.30 - 4.30 pm
