Lord Mayor's Celebration

Lord Mayor's Celebration Norwich city centre
From Thursday 3rd July  to Sunday 6th July

Four days of celebrations including a street procession, entertainers, fireworks, outdoor stages with music, dance and theatre, a funfair, craft and food markets, street fayre, duck races and lots more. The city's biggest community celebration.

Dandifest

St Margarets Church St Benedicts Street Norwich 
Mon 28 April – Saturday 10 May 2014

Art collective extraordinaire, The Norwich Dandies, are planning Dandifest! -  a two week happening, launching on Monday 28 April 2014, running through the May Bank Holiday, and ending on Saturday 10 May 2014.

Dandifest! will centre on St Margaret’s Church of Art on St Benedict’s Street, Norwich, with art, poetry, politics, live events, workshops, photography, and whatever else turns up between now and then. The Norwich Dandies, established in 2010, have worked separately on a vast array of projects, but always have the most fun when they work together. An impressive line-up of Guest Artists will be announced in the run-up to the launch.

The Norwich Dandies art collective are proud to announce Dandifest! Art, Poetry, Politics, Adopt-A-Pansy, Feminist Armpits...

Opening private view night 6pm on the 28th April 
Exhibition and happenings continues during the day time everyday till 10th May  with some evening events. It ends on the 10th of May at around 9pm

Can You Dance, Can you Shake Your Tail Feather? Want to take part in a Flash Mob?Then come along and Shake Your Tail Feather at 1pm on Wednesday 16 April on Gentleman's Walk, Norwich.

Free Tai Chi, Counselling, Computer access, job support, art and music, housing advice etc...

Under1roof is a training and development centre targeted at people who are homeless or who are vulnerable and at risk of homelessness.

What happens there?

Although the emphasis of the project is clearly focused on providing people with skills that can help them compete for jobs in the greater community, not all training sessions will necessarily be work related.  Much of what will be on offer will be informal learning to help develop  confidence, build self esteem and inspire, prior to taking up work based training.  These sessions can also support people achieve basic skills such as literacy and numeracy.
